What a Spotlight page is

A Spotlight page is a clean, polished candidate page at your own URL (like heyvitae.co/jordan) that shows employers who you are — your relevant experience, your work, the context you want them to see. It's optional and entirely under your control.

It's built from what's already in your workspace — your story, your resume history, the projects you've added — so there's no separate portfolio to build and maintain from scratch. A short narrative section up top, then project or work highlights below, laid out so a hiring manager can scan it in under a minute.

Customize it per role

Adjust colors and styling so it reads as yours, not a template. Embed video if a quick intro or a work sample makes a stronger case than text alone. Pick which projects and highlights show up, and in what order.

Create a role-specific version — the page can open with "prepared for [Company]" and lead with the experience that matters most for that job, without touching the version you send everyone else.

When to use one

Send a Spotlight link when a PDF resume doesn't do the job justice — when you want to show projects, samples, or context that doesn't fit on a page. It's also useful for networking, recruiter intros, and warm referrals where a polished URL travels better than an attachment.

Drop the URL into the optional "portfolio" field on an application, send it with a cold outreach, or include it in your email signature during an active search. It's a stronger candidate presence than a PDF, without being a gimmick.

Privacy, control, and view tracking

Spotlight pages are only public if you choose to publish them. Keep them unlisted, share with role-specific links, or take a page down at any time. Each link tracks its own views, so you can see that the version you sent Northwind got fourteen views and three from people at the company — without invasive tracking, and without the recruiter knowing you can see it.

Common questions

  • What is a Spotlight page?

A Spotlight page is a polished candidate page you can share with a clean URL (heyvitae.co/yourname). It's optional — use it when you want a stronger candidate presence than a PDF resume, or share role-specific links to focus what employers see.

  • What is Hey Vitae?

Hey Vitae is a job-search workspace for candidates. It helps you track every role you're interested in, prep for interviews around the actual job, manage follow-ups, organize resumes and notes, and see what's actually moving — without turning your search into spreadsheet chaos.

  • Is my job search data private?

Yes. Your tracked jobs, notes, documents, and emails are private to your account. Spotlight pages are only public if you choose to publish them — and you can keep them private or share role-specific links. See the privacy page for full details on data handling.

  • Is Hey Vitae free?

Yes — Free tracks unlimited jobs, keeps 5 saved documents, and lets you try the AI, with no card needed to start. When your search picks up, Plus makes Apply IQ unlimited (match scores, cover-letter feedback, and résumé coaching on every job) and adds full interview prep on 10 jobs a month plus 3 practice interviews — $120 for a 6-month pass (no auto-renewal) or $24/month. For peak prep, Max ($39/month) makes interview prep unlimited (fair use), adds Deep Prep research, and gives 10 practice interviews a month. Plus and Max both include Functioning Human access.
