What we build — and what we don't
AI that makes you sharper. Not AI that pretends to be you.
Hey Vitae is an AI product with an opinion about what AI should do in a job search. Prepare you, don't impersonate you. Sharpen your signal, don't flood the channel. Help you show up clearer, not pretend to be someone you aren't.
We are an AI product. The question is what kind.
Hey Vitae is built on AI — Apply Strength, prep kits, voice mocks, resume scoring, email parsing. We're not hiding from that, and we wouldn't want to. The interesting question isn't whether to use AI in a job search. It's how.
There's a version of an AI job-search tool that tries to do the search for you — auto-apply at volume, generate a different fake-you resume for every posting, blast cold outreach to strangers, and promise that “upload and we'll handle it” ends in an offer. That isn't the product we wanted to build, and the resume slop and ghosted inboxes everyone is sick of are what happens when enough people do.
We build AI to make you sharper. Not AI that pretends to be you.
What we build with AI
The AI in Hey Vitae helps you decide, practice, see your own search, and stay organized. Four jobs. None of them involves generating output that goes out into the world with your name on it without you behind it.
Apply Strength — to help you decide.
A fit signal on every role so you can spend your time on the ones worth pursuing. AI used for judgment, not for cranking out more applications.
Prep kits and voice mocks — to help you practice.
Stage-aware prep tied to the actual job description and your resume, with real-time mock interviews and a report after. AI as a coach you can rehearse with, not a script that goes in for you.
Insights — to help you see your own search.
Patterns in what's responding, where things stall, which materials convert. AI surfacing signal you generated, not generating content on your behalf.
Email parsing — to keep things organized.
Forwarded recruiter threads link to the right role automatically. AI doing housekeeping, not pretending to be you in someone's inbox.
What we won't ship
A short list, deliberately. Calling these out matters because the gravity in this category pulls toward all of them, and we'd rather be clear about where we're not going.
Auto-apply at volume.
Mass applications don't create better outcomes — they create noise that hiring managers learn to filter out. We'd rather help you send fewer, sharper ones.
A different fake-you resume for every role.
Tailoring is fine. Generating a new persona per posting is not. The candidates who win don't show up as a different person each time — they show up as a clearer version of the same one.
AI-generated cold outreach to strangers.
Networking only works when the other person believes a real human cares. Generated messages to people you don't know burn the channel for everyone, including you.
“Upload your resume and we'll do everything.”
The job search isn't a thing that can be done to you. The work of figuring out what you want, who you want to talk to, and how you want to show up is the work. We won't pretend otherwise.
Where we land on the resume question
We help you tailor a resume — by emphasis, not by invention.Resume and cover letter versioning, Apply Strength feedback per role, and scorecard review give you a clearer view of which of your real experiences are strongest for which roles. The words stay yours. What we won't ship is the one-click rewrite that hands a hiring manager a paragraph the AI made up about you.
Some candidates want the magic button — the tool that generates fifty bespoke resumes and fires them off overnight. That's a real preference, and it's a real market. It's just not the one we're building for. If you're tired of the AI resume arms race and you'd rather show up as the clearest version of yourself, that's the candidate Hey Vitae is built for.
The throughline
Capture, Prep, Spotlight, Insights — every part of the workspace points the same direction. You, with more signal, more practice, and more leverage than you had yesterday. Not a synthetic version of you generated on demand. Not a flood of applications you'll never follow up on. You, sharper.

Does Hey Vitae apply to jobs for me?
No — and that's intentional. Auto-applying tends to produce noise, not interviews. Hey Vitae helps you apply more deliberately and follow through, so the roles you do pursue actually move forward.
Is Hey Vitae just a resume tool?
No. Resume and cover letter versioning is part of the workspace, but the main product is the full job-search system: tracking, interview prep, follow-ups, documents, email, Spotlight pages, and insights. Companies have ATS. Recruiters have CRM. Hey Vitae is the candidate-side system.
What is Hey Vitae?
Hey Vitae is a job-search workspace for candidates. It helps you track every role you're interested in, prep for interviews around the actual job, manage follow-ups, organize resumes and notes, and see what's actually moving — without turning your search into spreadsheet chaos.
Who is Hey Vitae best for?
Anyone running a real job search — any industry, any experience level — who wants more structure than a spreadsheet and more substance than another AI resume tool. Especially helpful if you're juggling multiple roles, interview rounds, and follow-ups.
Is Hey Vitae free?
Yes — Free covers up to 20 tracked jobs, 3 saved documents, and limited AI boosts. No card needed to start. Pro is $19/month (or $54 for a 3-month pass) when your search picks up.
