Tailoring is emphasis, not invention
Tailoring a resume to a job description doesn't mean inventing experience you don't have or stuffing in keywords until the bots are happy. It means pointing your real experience at the role in front of you — leading with the projects that match, describing what you did in the language the job actually uses, and cutting what doesn't earn its place.

How it works: three steps, and you decide at each one
Pick the job and the resume. Any resume in your library works, including a PDF or Word file you uploaded — there is no “make an editable copy first” step. Hey Vitae reads the file's text as it is.
Answer a few questions, or skip them. Before it writes anything, Hey Vitae asks at most four short questions about things the posting wants that your resume doesn't show. Answer the ones that apply. Skip the rest, and those topics stay off the table — it will not guess at an answer you declined to give.
Review each change against the original. The edits arrive as a list. For each one you see the line before and after, with the posting's borrowed words marked, and you accept it, edit it yourself, or skip it. Accept all is there for the plain ones. The tailored copy is saved under your original resume and attached to the job. The original is never touched.
What it will change, and what it will not
It will reorder sections and bullets so the relevant work comes first, refocus your summary, change your headline, and rewrite a bullet for clarity in the words the posting uses for the thing that bullet already says.
It will not invent a number. It will not give you a title or a seniority you have never held. It will not add a tool or skill the posting names unless your resume or your answers already claim it. It will not stuff keywords — a change may borrow a few of the posting's terms, and the same term is not borrowed over and over. And a rewritten bullet keeps every figure and named thing it had.
These are not requests made of the model. They are checks run on every proposed edit before you see it, and an edit that fails one is dropped.
Numbers come from you, and you confirm them
A figure can only appear in an edit if it is already in your own words: on the resume, in the answers you just gave, or in something you said in a practice interview or saved in your answer library. Anything that isn't already on the resume is highlighted with its source — from your practice session on Sep 3 — and asks for a confirmation before it lands. Those never ride along with Accept all.
Fabricated resumes fall apart in the interview. A resume built from what you actually said doesn't.

Will it make up numbers or give me a title I never had?
No. A figure can only be used if it's already in your own words — on the resume, in the answers you gave, or in something you said in a practice interview — and anything not already on the resume is highlighted with its source and needs your confirmation. It can't claim a job title or seniority you haven't held, and it can't add a tool the posting names unless your resume or answers already claim it.
